EURO Final Spain VS Germany

Two powerhouse of soccer - Spain and Germany will do battle for the EURO2008 trophy. Spain has never reach a big final as this for a very long time and Germany is a seasoned team who always play in either in the semi final or final of a big competition.

Spain this year looks motivated and want to end the dry spell of a big trophy and they looks good for this game today. They are strong in all areas and with Ramos making runs on the flank, the German lanky defenders will look busy today.

What a cracking game this is going to be. Two attacking minded side playing for the last spot in the final. Who will it be?

The Spanish too knows how to play against the Russian and today will promise to be a cracking game with both side playing the same style of football. The Russian and Spanish prefers to play the ball on the ground instead of pumping it high for their strikers to chase.

In a big game of this magnitude, it does not only depend on a talented team to win the game, but a talented coach is a more important factor and I believe Hiddink don’t want to fail for the third time. It’s time for him to finally get a break into the final.

Spain through to the semi final

Classy Spain is through to the semi final and the expense of the World Champion, Italy. The game had to be settled through the penalties after drawing 0 - 0 after the extra time.

The Italians missed two penalties and that summed up their fate in this competition.

EURO Quarter Final Spain VS Italy

Will the Italians fans be cheering or packing the bags home after today like the Dutch fan yesterday?

Two soccer powerhouse on display today. Spain is in better form that’s what they say and looking to have the upper hand in the midfield  with Italian Pirlo and Gattuso suspended.

Italy is a team that can turn the game around if they wake up on the right side of the bed. Luca Toni has been disappointing in front of goal and if Italy is going to proceed to the semi final, their striker need to put on their shooting boots today.

Spain has sort of a crappy defence and any reasonable team can even scored against them. I don’t rate the Spainiards highly today against the mighty world champions. They don’t get to be a world champion if they are not worthy.

I will go with Italy +1/4 today.

EURO Biggest Upset

This has to be the biggest upset in this EURO competition. The Dutch has been stunned by another Dutchman.

The Russian made Holland looks like an underdog team. They are above the class of Holland whom many tipped to be lifting the trophy but it all end up today when they were given a 3-1 thumping by the Russian.

Van Der Sar is equal to Peter Czech! Both can be the contender for the biggest flopper in the competition.

Any team that can beat England is a worthy team and the Russian is a worthy team.

Well, that’s soccer. One day you are on the high and another day you get beaten by another team below your class and today is the biggest upset in this EURO competition.

EURO Quarter Final Holland VS Russia

Holland has been scoring goals like rain pouring down from the sky! They are a very good attacking side and can take on any defence.

Russia is a different class if you are going to compare with Holland. On paper, it’s Holland all the way. But the Russian has a very talented coach in Guus Hiddink who knows how to bring an average team to the top. The pressure is on Holland to deliver and will they be up to it.

The Russian could have scored more than six goals past the Swede and this shows that the Russians are also capable of scoring goals and any team that can beat England is a worthy team!

EURO Quarter Final - Portugal VS Germany

Germany qualify to the quarter final with an unconvincing 1 - 0 against the host, Austria. They will meet one of the campaign favorite Portugal in this quarter final.

Portugal lost 2 - 0 in their last game which saw them already qualify into the next phase.

Germany is no longer the strong defence team they used to be. Their defence has been their problem right during the EURO qualification campaign where you can see even a team like Belarus can put two past them.

Against the skillful Portuguese side, if they are not going to tighten their defence, we can see Ronaldo and company to run them to the ground.

But in attack, the German should not have any problem but I am quite surprise if Gomez will still start today. Klose need another partner and putting Kuryani is a better option with Podolski playing behind them.

This will be an open game and anything can happen and we can expect a total goal over for this game.
